RCSWMD To Offer Community Grants For Recycling Projects

The Randolph County Solid Waste Management District is pleased to present a Community Grant Program for 2016, designed to encourage an increase in recycling, raise awareness about important environmental issues and support efforts by county agencies, clubs and businesses to dispose of waste responsibly. All local units of government, non-profit organizations, schools, civic organizations, businesses and clubs operating within Randolph County are encouraged to apply.  Funding may be used for such items as the purchase of permanent bins for recycling, the purchase of recycled playground, park or trail equipment and accessories, the purchase of proper disposal containers (i.e. cigarette butt or pet waste containers) or for environmental education and outreach activities, to name just a few.  The District has set aside $6,000.00 for the program year, and applicants may apply for up to $3,000.00.  More information may be obtained in the application found in the Forms tab on this website, or by contacting the District office.  Applications are due at noon of Friday, February 19, 2016.
