Environmental Education

One of the main ways the Solid Waste Management Districts of Indiana helps to reduce waste and recycling efforts within the county is through Environmental Education. District staff is available to speak to clubs, businesses, civic or community groups on a variety of topics including recycling, composting, vermicomposting and up-cycled reuse projects.

Environmental Education is also critical to the success of our children and their future planet. The District offers a variety of standards-based environmental programs to students of all ages from preschool through high school. Programs are brought directly to the classroom FREE of charge. All presentations are interactive and cover a wide range of topics such as recycling, resource conservation, pollution and landfill education.

Programs are available for schools, youth and other community organizations within the county. To speak to someone about setting up a presentation please call Tonia Williams, Community Outreach Coordinator at 765-584-9816.

Please allow two weeks ahead, when scheduling presentations.
